John E. Zeitler

March 31, 1915 - June 6, 1981

Services will be at 1pm Tuesday at the Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home, 336, N. Main, for John E. Zeitler Sr., 66, of 12598 Lake Shore Drive, Niles, who died early Saturday at Pawating Hospital, Niles, after a lengthy illness.  He was employed by Wheelabrator-Frye, Mishawaka

Born on March 31, 1915, in South Bend, he had lived in South Bend most of his life, moving to Niles 15 years ago.  On February 10, 1938, in South Bend, he married Jean M. Erhardt, who survives.  Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Virginia Butchko, Mrs. Joyce McDowell and Mrs. Jean Talbot, and a son, John E Jr., all of Mishawaka; 16 grandchildren; a great grandson, and a sister, Mrs. Alice Herman of Niles.  Rev. Donald I. Kaufman, pastor of the Zion United Church of Christ, will officiate at the services.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.  Friends may call from 7 to 9pm today at the funeral home.  He was a member of Eagles Lodge 435 for 43 years
