SOUTH BEND - Services for Cecelia A. Zernick, 82, of East Lincolnway, LaPorte, formerly of South Chapin Street, who died at 5:35 p.m. Saturday in LaPorte Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Zahoran Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Visiting Nurses Association.
Mrs. Zernick was born Dec. 3, 1911, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.
On June 11, 1938, in South Bend, as Cecelia Podolak, she married Anthony Zernick. He died Aug. 23, 1993. She is survived by a daughter, Geraldine Knoll, with whom she made her home; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Evelyn George of South Bend. She was a former member of St. Ann Society of the church.
