John Zielinski

John Zielinski, 88, formerly of North O'Brien Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 11:10 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 3, in the Parma Hospital in Parma, Ohio. He was born on Aug. 28, 1911, in South Bend. Mr. Zielinski retired from the Bendix Corporation in 1972. He was a member of U.A.W. Local #9.

On April 26, 1941, in South Bend, he married Helen Rybacki, who preceded him in death on Aug. 12, 1995. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Isabelle McCoy, Susie Goralski and Alice Kominowski; and by three brothers, Kenneth Zielinski, Stanley Zielinski and Clarence Zielinski. He is survived by a son, Donald (Pauline) Meade of Parma; five grandchildren, Paula Meade of Chester, N.J., Donald Meade, Jr., of Houston, Texas, Christine Warford of Prospect, Ky., Kurt (Beth) Meade of South Bend and Kim Harper of Erie, Pa.; and by six great-grandchildren, Erin Hall, Kymberly Harper, Steven Warford, Meagan Warford, Chelsea Meade and Tyler Meade.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road. Family and friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of services. Entombment will follow in Highland Cemetery.
