Annabelle Zimmerman

Annabelle Zimmerman, 87, of 120 East Battell Street, Mishawaka, Ind., died after a short illness at 7:17 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 27, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center. Annabelle was born on Aug. 2, 1912, in San Francisco, Calif., but had lived most of her life in the South Bend area.

 

On April 30, 1944, as Annabelle Sutton, she married Byron K. Zimmerman, who preceded her in death on March 5, 1987. Annabelle is survived by a sister, Sally Yike of South Bend, Ind.; and by three nephews, Craig Ridout of South Bend, Darrel Ridout of Williston, Fla., and Robert Ridout of Waterloo, Iowa.

 

Annabelle and her husband Byron owned and operated the ABZ Buffet Restaurant from 1944 to 1976. She was a past member of the National Restaurant Association, the Indiana State Restaurant Association and the National Stewards and Caterers Association. Annabelle was also a longtime member of the Crest Manor Church of the Brethren.

 

Funeral services for Annabelle Zimmerman will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday in the Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend. Officiating will be the Rev. Larry Fourman of the Crest Manor Church of the Brethren. Burial will follow in the Forest Grove Cemetery in Middlebury, Ind. Visitation for Annabelle will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Guisinger Colonial Chapel.
