Catherine C. Zimmerman of Rovers Edge Ct., Mishawaka, Ind., died in her residence at 9 am Saturday October 7, after a prolonged illness of cancer. She was born in Milwaukee, Wis., on September 16, 1945, and has resided in Mishawaka since 1981.

As Catherine Happel, she married Joel L. Zimmerman, in Milwaukee, on September 4, 1965. He survives. Mrs. Zimmerman is also survived by two daughters, Paula (Andy) Frederick of Osceola, Ind., and Shelley (Bill) Zellmer of South Bend, Ind.; one son Brian (Tracie) Zimmerman of Mishawaka; five grandchildren, Kristen, Katie, Larissa, Brooke, Nickolas; two sisters, Mary Barbara Clark and Rita Belisle both of Oconomowoc, Wis. Catherine was preceded in death by her parents Carl & Catherine (Foren) Happel Sr.; and by a brother Carl Happel Jr.

Following her children starting school she went to Nursing School. Upon graduation, she became a geriatric nurse. Catherine was a homemaker, a member of Sunny Haven recreation Park, Beta Gamma Upsilon Sorority, and had served as President of the Beta Delta Chapter.

Friends and family may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday October 10th and from 9:30 to 10:30 Wednesday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Paul Daniel officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
