Donald L. Zimmerman, 83, of Miami Club Drive, Mishawaka, Ind., went to heaven at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25. Don was born on Nov. 25, 1917, in Constantine, Mich. He had resided in Mishawaka most of his life. Don was preceded in death by his wife and best friend, Mary Stone Zimmerman. He is survived by a son, Chuck (Nancy) Zimmerman; his daughter, Jane (Roger) Wright; his loving grandchildren, Jennifer Zimmerman, Don Zimmerman, Ann Wright and Scott (Katie) Wright; his beloved great-granddaughter, Maya Wright; a sister-in-law, Dot (Dar) Wiekamp; sister-in-law, Elsie Zimmerman; and by nieces and nephews, Mary Lou, Dennis, Jim, Julie, J.T. and Jennifer Schwartz.

Don was a loving and caring father, grandfather and friend. He brightened the lives of his children and grandchildren and all who knew him. Don worked as a business manager of the custom design department at Uniroyal in Mishawaka for 42 years before retiring in 1982. He was an avid golfer and member of the Morris Park Country Club. He was very active in his community and church, and loved the maize and blue, the University of Michigan. Don was an influence and inspiration to all the lives he touched. He will be greatly missed.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today, July 27, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, and from a half hour before services in the church on Saturday. Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 28, in the First United Methodist Church, Mishawaka. Rev. Lorin Clemenz will be officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
