SOUTH BEND - Dorothy E. Zimmerman, 80, of Lawton, Mich., formerly of South Bend, died at 4:55 a.m. Saturday in her daughter's Constantine home. Mrs. Zimmerman retired from Dr. Frank Walerko's office in 1975 as a receptionist. She was born Dec. 19, 1913, in Oil City, Pa., and moved to South Bend in 1933.

On Aug. 24, 1932, in Covington, Ky., as Dorothy Manross, she married Doyle M. ''Red'' Zimmerman. He survives with a daughter, Phyllis VanKirk of Constantine; a son, Robert of Sturgis; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of South Bend.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 N. Cleveland Road. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or Gideons.
