Virginia J. Ziolkowski

Virginia J. Ziolkowski, 80, of East LaSalle Avenue, South Bend, Ind., formerly of Kaley Street, South Bend, died at 8:02 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 2, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center.

Virginia was born on Nov. 14, 1919, in South Bend to Valentine and Mary (Kruszynski) Cholasinski.

 

She was married on April 14, 1942, as Virginia J. Cholasinski, to Joseph Ziolkowski who died on June 5, 1999.

 

She was also preceded in death by seven sisters, Estelle Gadacz, Gladys Ewald, Ann Cholasinski, Dorothy Ference, Frances Grajczyk, Cecilia Dobrzykowski and Joan Launer; and four brothers, Bill, Martin, John and Stanley Cholasinski.

 

She was a lifetime member of St. Adalbert Catholic Church.

 

She is survived by two sons, Randy Ziolkowski of Denver, Colo., and Michael (Anna) Ziolkowski of South Bend; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Ziolkowski of South Bend; three grandchildren, Chad Michael Ziolkowski and Kristopher Lee Ziolkowski, both of Chicago, Ill., and Angela Marie Ziolkowski of South Bend; and by her sister, Harriet Pittman of Mishawaka, Ind.

 

Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 5, in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend.

 

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 6, in St. Adalbert Catholic Church, with burial to follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
