Phyllis C. Zion, 86, of East 3rd Street, Mishawaka, passed away at 1:35 pm Thursday, December 15th, in Bremen Health Care Center, following an illness. She was born April 13,1919, in Mishawaka, Indiana, to Wilbur and Jessie (Grubaugh) Gamble who both preceded her in death.

 

On October 20,1941, she married Gilbert Zion. He survives with two daughters, Carolyn Rorie of Mishawaka, Indiana, and Marcia Wright of Elkhart, Indiana; three grandchildren: Rod Johnson of Mishawaka, Alan Wright of Chicago and David “Penny” Wright of South Bend.

 

Mrs. Zion was a loan officer for Taper Lock Credit Union. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Mishawaka where she was active in the Women’s Clubs and the Phi Sigma Alpha Sorority.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, December 19th, at First Presbyterian Church of Mishawaka with Pastor Janet VanLear officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the services in the Church. Burial will follow the services at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Church. The Bubb Funeral Chapel North is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
