Loretta M. Zmyslo

Aug. 8, 1925 - June 22, 2006

Loretta M. Zmyslo, 80, of Greenwood, Ind., passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2006, in St. Francis Hospital, Beech Grove, Ind.

Loretta was born on August 8, 1925, in South Bend, to Joseph and Regina (Rakowski) Janiszczak Sr. On February 2, 1946, she married Stanley Zmyslo in South Bend. Stanley passed away April 4, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, MaryAnn Dabros and Rita Ruszkowski; and two brothers, Daniel Janizak and Joseph Janiszczak Jr.

She is survived by a daughter, Paulette (Patrick) Calkins of Greenwood; three sons, Alan (Lynn) Zmyslo of Neenah, Wis., James (Charlotte) Zmyslo of State College, Pa., and Ronald (Sharon) Zmyslo of Indianapolis; five grandchildren, Amanda, Jennifer, and Michael Zmyslo, Kimberly Garver and Karyn Tarnacki; and two step-grandchildren, Jacob and Sara Calkins.

Loretta was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, and the Altar and Rosary Society.

Visitation will be on Monday, June 26, 2006, from 4 to 8 p.m. in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 South Mayflower Road, South Bend, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Gardens in St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
