John C. BriggsBRIGGS, JOHN C., Ex-Judge of the Circuit Court, now practicing attorney, Sullivan, Ind., was born Carlisle, Sullivan County, Ind., Sept. 2, 1811; served four years in the civil war in 14th Indiana and 11th Cavalry, going in as private, rising to non-commissioned officer, and at close of war was assistant quartermaster of Spalding's Brigade of cavalry.
