George Goodwin


GOODWIN GEORGE, county commissioner, was born In Coshocton County, Ohio, July 6, 1838; son of James and Catherine (McKee) Goodwin, who came to Sullivan County in the spring of 1866, and afterward lived and died in Hamilton township. In the fall of 1864 George Goodwin removed from Ohio to Crawford County, Ill., thence to Sullivan County April 18, 1866, Here he has since lived. Farming has been his principal occupation. In early life he taught school for 14 years. He has been a successful business man, and in public affairs a progressive citizen. In 1896 he was elected, county commissioner. His record in office has been that of a wise and economical officer. - Hamilton Twp.
