John A.Hoke


HOKE, JOHN A., ranks among the leading and prosperous farmers of Sullivan County. He was born May 6, 1842, on his present farm; he was married January 3, 1875, to Lizzie Brenttinger, a native of Jefferson County, Ky., and a daughter of Joseph and Camilla (Wells) Brenttinger, who settled in Clarke [sic] County, Ind., in 1854, making their permanent home there. Both are deceased. Mr. and Mrs. Hoke have five children, as follows: Estella, Eva, Millie and Wm. Albert and John Alvin, who are twins. Mr. Hoke is a member of the Christian Church, being always ready to aid in the cause of religion. - Haddon Twp.
