I am doing a search for my g.grandfather, ROBERT D. BAKER, born somewhere in INDIANA, so I am having to try all counties. He was born July 31, 1866; have no parent's names, know of one sister, Sarah Jane who lived most of her life in Terre Haute, no married name. My grandfather left Indiana and settled in Newnan, GA., married Nobie Coats in 1917, one daughter Zelma Louise. He died March 11, 1933 in Newnan, GA. He may have also had a brother who lived on Long Island, NY, died in early 1940's. I have sent this query/query before; however, I did not give full E-Mail addquery/ress, and some have had trouble query/responding. I would deeply appreciate any help from Indiana folks. I have been searching the 1880 Indiana Soundex at the National Archives in East Point, GA. and also because of his age in 1880, having to look line by line at the 1880 Census. I have not located a Robert D. Baker as of yet.

I am looking for my grandmother Clara May Sims siblings and parents. They may have been in this area. They were in the Terre Haute area possibly 1883-4. My grandmother was b. 1880 and her mother was killed in 1883. The children (7) were put in an orphanage. Most of the children remained in the area except for my grandmother who was taken by a family named Kelly and taken to San Francisco, CA. Some siblings are Hershel, Edward and Louise (who may have married a dejarnett). Two bros. were Attorneys in Layfayette. Any help would be appreciated. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Bartlett and Margaret Draper BARKER were living in the Gill Township of Sullivan Co. around 1867 to 1878. In the 1870 census, a 15 year old girl, Phebe Kaufman, was living with them. Three of her siblings were living with other guardians as their parents and another sibling had died around 1867. Trying to find out what connection the Kaufmans were to the Drapers or the Barkers. The Barkers moved from across the river in Crawford Co. IL. Was there any sort of outbreak in this area -- like typhoid or cholera -- that might have caused the Kaufman deaths? Other families connected to them had deaths at about the same time.
