JOSEPH TRIMBLE

JOSEPH TRIMBLE was a son of James Trimble and Sarah Hinton. Joseph was born on Feb 3, 1796 in Lexington, KY. The family settled in Carlisle, IN in 1814. Joseph Trimble married Catherine Carrico Jan. 28, 1823 in Haddon Township, IN. Joseph was an excellent penman and taught school. Catherine and Joseph lived their whole lives in Haddon Township and Joseph passed away Jan. 12, 1873 and Catherine on Jan. 3, 1871. They are buried together at the Trimble Cemetery. From this union came the following ten children who were all born in Sullivan County:
Charles G., born Nov. 26, 1823
Sarah, born Nov. 23, 1824 and married John Willis
James, born Dec. 17, 1825
Martha, born June 16, 1828 and married Hugh McCammon
Mary, born Nov. 15, 1829
Margaret, born May 13, 1831 and passed away Sept. 7, 1856
Eliza, born Nov. 1, 1833 and passed away Aug. 2, 1834.
Josiah Carica, born Aug. 8, 1835 and married Serelda McCammon on Jan. 1, 1857 in Sullivan County. They had three children: Jane, born 1858 and married to John Breen; Catherine, born March 9, 1859, married to David Willis; and Margaret, born 1863, who married S.B. Cummins. Josiah Carica passed away April 9, 1863 and Serlda in 1911 and they are buried at Indian Prarie Cemetery.
Catherine was born Oct. 24, 1839 and married James Dunbar on Oct. 25, 1868. Catherine passed away March 5, 1882 and is buried at the Trimble Cemetery.
William Murphy was born Sept. 4, 1844.
