William Brindley, Sr.
Sr., was born in Bath County, Va. about the year 1777. He was reared in
State, in which he lived with his parents till a man grown, when he
removed to near Olympian
Springs, Ky., where he was married to a lady named _____ Lansdell, or
died after bearing him two children, viz: Lois and Sarah. He married
Susan McClannahan for his second wife, and about 1813, or 1814, removed
his family to Indiana, and settled in what is now
Pleasant Township, this county, in which he passed the remainder of his
life. He served in Gen.
Harrison's command during the war of 1812, and was an excellent soldier
as well as citizen. By
his second wife he had nine children, of whom five are living, and
reside in this county, viz: James, Nancy Ann, John, William and Henry J. Mr.
Brindley died in 1843, aged sixty-six years. His wife departed this life
March 17, 1844, aged fifty-seven years.
