The original 1/2 acre for a Church & burial ground was deeded by George & Mary Markland in 1843. An additional 1 acre was deeded to the trustees in 1900 by Mary H. Albert, Oliver T., & Lou J. Markland, all unmarried.

"I have not copied this cemetery in rows, but number by stone only and began on the South side. Again where there are discrepancies in my copy and Ms. Morford's book, I give hers in parenthesis. If I can clarify any of these I do."


1. Schievebein, Cora 15 July 1883(1889)-6 Sep. 1898. Stone is down and there seems to be at least one inscription on the other side.
