Grants Creek, aka Lostutter Cemetery
Posey Township

by Wanda Moreford

The Grants Creek Baptist Church is on Quercus Grove Road a little over one mile from State Route 156. Just before you get to the church on the right side of the road and part way up the hill, is the Lostutter Cemetery. Most of the stones are of the Lostutter family, but there are others, and it is hard to tell how many burials there may have been because the cemetery is in such poor condition. The big monument of Peter Lostutter Sr. and his wife Elizabeth, with the listing of their children and their birth dates, is relatively undamaged. There are a few other stones still standing and most have been broken.
