Long Run Baptist Cemetery

The Long Run Baptist Church, Organized in 1818, is located on State Road 129 one mile south of Moorefield. Among the original seven members of the Church were William J. and Catherine Griffith. On August 3, 1822 as found in the recorders office of the Switzerland County Court House in Deed Book C, page 317, they deeded to the trustees of the Church, Nathanial Garard, William Lock, and Thomas Wright, for $2, land to be used as a burying ground. It was described as follows; One acre of land in the NW quarter of section 6, Township 2, Range 3, and said lot of land or acre to be in a square in said corner of the above named quarter section.
