Will of Stephen Ellis Jr.
Written: 26 January 1887 (or 1889)
Proven: 5 Mar 1889

I, Stephen Ellis of the County of Jefferson and the State of Indiana do declare this to be my last will and testament hereby revoking all others.

First, I wish to make provisions for my wife in case she should survive me. She to have and to hold all of household and kitchen furniture, all notes and money's and personal effects that I shall possess a the time of my death.

I will to the children of my daughter, Samantha: Minnie, Corie, and Charlie Doolittle fifty acres of land part in NE quarter of section 17, town 5, range 12 East and part in NW quarter section 17, town 5,range 12 East.

I will to my daughter, Malinda, fifty acres where she now resides it being in part in NE quarter of section 17, town 5, range 12 East.

I will to my daughter, Nancy S., fifty acres where she now resides it being in part in NE quarter of section 17, town 5, range 12 East.

My son Newton has received by deed his full share of land.

I will to my daughter, Harriets children, Stephen, Ann, Harriet, Jessie, Mary, Rachel and Joseph Lewis the sum of $24 to be equally divided among them.

And to the children of my daughter, Polly Margaret, names as follows: John, Sarah, and Newton Waltz. I will $24 to be equally divided among them.

I will to each of my children, Nancy S., Newton, and Malinda, and my grandchildren Minnie, Corie, and Charlie Doolittle (the grandchildren to be as one heir) they being the children on my daughter Samantha, to share and share equal in all that shall remain of my notes, moneys and personal effects at the death of myself and wife,

I appoint John McGregor (?) as the executer of this my will to collect all moneys and pay the same to the heirs.

In witness where of I have signed my name and affixed my seal, this the 26 day of January 1887 (or 1889)
