                    Battle Ground Cemetery was walked and logged by Mary E. Wilson in August and September
                    of 1999, and she has graciously shared her work to help Tippecanoe County researchers find
                    their ancestors.   We are so thankful for all the time and hard work she put into this project!
                    I'm sure this will be a valuable resource for Tippecanoe County researcher for many years to
                    come.

Mary not only read and transcribed the tombstones, but she also searched the cemetery sexton

records, county death records and obituaries from the Lafayette Journal and Courier and found

several burials that are unmarked. She is continuing this work and updates will be made when

more burials and death dates are found in those records.

          You will note in the records the following initials used to indicate sources:
                 BG D/R = Battle Ground Death Record
                 OB = Obituary from the Lafayette Journal and Courier
                 SR = Sexton Records

          You will also find notes in parenthesis (   ) that were not part of Mary's original work. These
          notes were added by me as I prepared the file to go online. The information is for some of my
          own families and comes from my own personal research. Source information has been given
