Patsey Jane Woodward to James Jack

This Indenture made this twenty fifth day of September In the year of our Lord one thousand and (eight hundred) thirty-four Between John Fisher and John Stair Overseers of the Poor of Washington Township in the County of Tippecanoe and State of Indiana of the one part and James Jack of the county aforesaid of the other Part

Witnesseth that the said overseers have put place and bound and do by these presents put place and bind Patsey Jane Woodward a poor girl aged four years on the nineteenth day of February 1835.  And to live with and serve the said James Jack as a servant girl untill she arrives at the age of eighteen years old if she should so long live and the said overseers do by these presents give unto James Jack all the right power and authority over the Patsey Jane Woodward and her services during the said term which by the Laws of this state a master has in and over a lawfully indentured apprentice and the said J. Jack in consideration thereof doth on his part covenant promise and agree to and with the said overseers and their successors in office and each and every of them and with the sd Patsy J. Woodward as his apprentice or that he will cause it to be and six months schooling also one cow one bed and bedding one spinning wheel and six head of sheep and also to train her up in the habits of industry and morality and during the term of her apprenticeship to provide and allow her sufficient meat and drink washing lodging and apparel and all other things necessary for  an apprentice.  During her apprenticeship in witness we have of the said parties have hereunto set their hands and seals on this day and year above written.
