John Cowan Shaw and Eva Q. Gay Shaw

These pictures are of my grandfather's cousin, John Cowan Shaw, son of Thomas Shaw and Julia Ann Mitts.  John Cowan Shaw was born in Tippecanoe County in 1854, and died 3 February 1931.  He was married 09 Dec 1896 in Tippecanoe County to Eva Q. Gay, who died 4 April 1938.  They are buried in Greenbush Cemetery.  These pictures were made in 1927 at their home at 1015 Robert Street, LaFayette, Indiana.  His picture was made by the front porch, and Eva's picture was made in the back yard with her flowers.  I believe John Cowan Shaw probably worked in the Office of the City Controller, as he wrote some letters on letterhead from that office, with the name lined out.
