My 2nd-great-grandfather, William Penn Sovern, 
b. 23 Aug 1823, Coshocton Co., OH, migrated to Tippecanoe Co., IN, about 1851.  On 4 Nov 1852 
in LaFayette he married Martha Dye, who was
born on 3 Jan 1831 in Lafayette. 

In the middle of raising a family of 8 children (Charles, Clara, Ella, William, Howard, Richard, Harry, Ida), William took time out to serve in Civil War 72nd IN Infantry. 

William died in Shadeland, near Lafayette, 
Tippecanoe Co.,  25 Sep 1913 at the age of 90.
