My 2nd-great-grandfather, William Penn Sovern, b. 23 Aug 1823, Coshocton Co., OH, migrated to Tippecanoe Co., IN, about 1851.  On 4 Nov 1852  in LaFayette he married Martha Dye, who was born on 3 Jan 1831 in Lafayette. 

In the middle of raising a family of 8 children (Charles, Clara, Ella, William, Howard, Richard, Harry, Ida), William took time out to serve in Civil War 72nd IN Infantry.
