(1845-1931) and

(1844-1870), parents of Mary E. Hayward Downs.  William was born in Nunda, Livingston Co., NY, and was the son of James Hayward and Hannah Marion Fisher.  Elizabeth was born in Brown Co., IN, and was the daughter of Jesse Clapton and Maria Followell.

 
 
 
Harry Morton Downs (1865-1938) 
and Mary E. Hayward (1869-1933) (adopted name was Minnie Muter).  Harry was the son of Andrew James Downs and Mary Francis Tuttle.  Mary was the daughter of William Hayward and Elizabeth Ann Clapton.
Ethel John Downs Watkins (1889-1962)
dau. of Harry M. Downs and Mary E. Hayward.  She was married to 
Lewis N. Watkins Dec. 24, 1906,
in Battle Ground, Indiana

 
 
 
Joseph Lewis Watkins (1927- ) and Betty Lorene Davis (1922-1986) on their wedding day, June 23, 1944.  He was the son of Lewis N. Watkins and Ethel J. Downs; she was the daughter of Elvah Carter Davis (1900-1975) and Thelma Evelyn Hawkins (1903-1995).
