May 18, 1842

ADMINISTRATOR'S NOTICE
The undersigned, having taken out letters of administration on the estate of ELISHA PERKINS, late of Tippecanoe County, Indiana, dec'd, hereby notifies all persons having claims against said estate to present them legally authenticated for settlement within one year from this date, and will all persons indebted to the same come forward immediately and make settlement with ARCHIBALD BRYSON, Adm'r.

Be it remembered, that on this 23rd day of December, A.D. 1845, said complainant, by INGRAHM? and JONES, her solicitors, filed in the office of the Clerk of the Tippecanoe Circuit Court, her bill of complaint against said defendant, and also the affidavit of a disinterested person stating that the said defendant is not a resident of the State of Indiana.  The said defendant is therefore hereby notified that unless he personally be and appear before the Judges of our Tippecanoe Circuit Court on the first day of their next term, is beholden at the Court House in the town of Lafayette, in said county, on the last Monday in February next, and then and there, on or before the calling of this case, plead, answer, or demur to the complainants bill in this behalf, the matters and things therein charged and alleged will be taken as confessed against him, and will be heard and determined and decreed in his absence accordingly.

Given under my hand at office in Lafayette on this twenty third day of December, A.D. 1845.

Notice is hereby given that I will on the 1st day of January, 1846, offer for sale at the late residence of JAMES SLATER, dec'd, in Lauramie township, Tippecanoe County, Ind., the personal effects of said deceased, consisting of Horses, Cattle, Hogs, Sheep, one Wagon and harness, ploughs, Wheat, Corn, Oats and Hay, with other articles not particularized.  Sale to commence at 10 o'clock A.M of said day.

On Saturday the 21st of February, I will offer for sale, at the residence of the subscriber in Perry township, Tippecanoe County, Ind., the personal property of JOB JONES, deceased, consisting in part of one Trunk, two Watches, and some wearing apparel.  Sale to commence at 10 o'clock a.m. of said day.  A credit of nine months will be given on all sums of three dollars and upwards; under three, cash in hand.

ADMINISTRATOR'S SALE
Notice is hereby given that I will expose to sale at public auction, on Saturday the 21st day of February next, at the late residence of HENRY STAIR, dec'd, all the personal property of said deceased, consisting of horses, cattle, hogs, corn, wheat in the ground, wheat in stack, oats in the stack, one wagon and gearing, farming utensils, household and kitchen furnishings, &c.  A credit of nine months will be given on all sums of three dollars and upwards, the purchaser giving his note with approved security.

all of this county.   The printer's would like to acknowledge the receipt of a delicious Bride's Cake, about the
size of an old fashioned Pone, but done up in the most tasteful style.  Of course the happy pair have the best wishes of the craft.
--On Sunday evening last, in this city, by A.B. SLAUGHTER, Esq.., MR.ULYSSES COOK to MRS. MARY CALHOUN.
--May they live a thousand years!
 

ADMINISTRATOR'S NOTICE
Notice is hereby given, that the undersigned has this day taken out letters of administration on the estate of THOMAS HERBERT, deceased, late of Tippecanoe county, Wayne township, Ind.; all persons indebted to said dec'd are required to make immediate payment, those having claims against said dec'd, to present them legally proven within one year from this date.  The estate is insolvent.

ADMINISTRATOR'S SALE
There will be offered for sale at the house of JOHN H. SMITH, in West Point, Wayne township, Tippecanoe county, Ind., the late residence of THOMAS HERBERT, deceased, on the 4th day of April, 1846, the personal effects of said dec'd viz.: consisting of wearing apparel, bedsteads and bedding, and household goods of various descriptions.  A credit of six months will be given on all sums over three dollars; three dollars and under to be cash in hand; the purchaser of sums over three dollars to give note with approved security without the benefit of any appraisement law.  Sale to commence at ten o'clock a.m. of said day, when due attention will be given by

Notice is hereby given to LYDIA BENNETT, SAMUEL THORNTON BENNETT, LOUISA BENNETT, and WILLIAM SARGEANT BENNETT, heirs as aforesaid, that the Administrator has filed his petition in said Court to settle the estate of WILLIAM BENNETT, deceased, as insolvent.  The said widow and heirs are therefore hereby notified to personally be and appear before the Judge of the Tippecanoe Probate Court on the first day of the next term to be holden at the court house in the town of Lafayette in said county, on the third Monday in May next, and then there to answer the petition in this behalf and show cause why said estate shall not be settled insolvent, or the matters and things therein contained will be taken as confessed and true, and determined in their absence accordingly.

Can anybody tell us where JOHN CAMPBELL late of Kickapoo, Warren Co., Indiana, has flown to?
He is a dishonest man, having "drawn us on" to the amount of ten dollars, and left without paying the
first red cent, or even so much as saying 'Thank ye, Sir.'

On this 7th day of April A.D. 1846, said petitioners by COX their solicitor, filed in the office of the Clerk of the Tippecanoe Probate court, their petition, and also the affidavit of a disinterested person that the said defendants, LEWIS COBLER and NANCY COBLER, are not residents of the State of Indiana.  They are heretofore notified of the filing and pendency of the petition in this behalf, and that unless they and each of them personally be and appear before the Judge of our Tippecanoe Probate Court on the first day of the next term thereof, to be holden at the court house in the town of Lafayette, in said county, on the third Monday in May next, and then and there on or before the calling of this cause, plead, answer or demur to the petition in this behalf, the matters and things therein charged will be taken as confessed and true against them, and decreed in their absence
accordingly.  Given under my hand at office in Lafayette, on this 7th day of April, A.D. 1846.

MESSR. EWRY and FRY having declined serving in the Board of Trustees of Lafayette, a special election was held on Wed. of last week, which resulted in the choice of JOHN PURDUE in the First ward, and JAMES H. SKINNER in the Third.

We understand that our gallant townsman, CAPT. JOSHUA BAKER, commandant of the Yorktown Guards, has tendered the services of himself and compatriots, to the Governor, in ease of a requisition of this State for troops.

Notice is hereby given that the undersigned has taken out letters of administration on the estate of ISAAC CADWALLADER, late of Tippecanoe County, In., dec'd.  All persons indebted to said estate are hereby requested to come forward and make immediate payment, and those having laims against said estate are required to present them legally authenticated for settlement within one year from the date hereof.  Said estate is probably solvent.

Notice is hereby given, that hte undersigned administrator of the estate of ISAAC CADWALLADER, late of Tippecanoe County, In., dec'd, will offer for sale at public auction, at the late residence of the deceased, on Saturday the 27th day of February, A.D. 1847, the personal property of decedent, consisting in part of -- horses, cattle, hogs, 1 two-horse waggon, 1 four-horse waggon, and gears, corn in the crib, wheat in the stack, and in the ground; a large lot of farming utensils, coopering tools, and staves, wood in the cord, household and kitchen furniture, &c.  A credit of nine months will be given on all sums over three dollars by purchaser executing his note with approved security without any relief whatever from valuation or appraisement laws of Indiana; and on all sums of three dollars and under, cash in hand on the day of the sale.  Sale to commence at 10 o'clock a.m. on said day.

Notice is hereby given that I will sell to the highest bidder, at the late residence of JOHN B. MICHAELS, deceased, in the town of Lafayette, on Friday, the 12th day of February, 1847, the following personal property belonging to the estate of said decedent, to wit: One horse, one Cow, on Buggy, one Cooking Stove, together with sundry other articles.  A credit of nine months will be given on sums over three dollars, purchaser giving note with approved security, waving benefit of appraisment laws; less sums cash in hand.  Sale to commence at 10 o'clock, a.m. on said day.

        On Thursday evening, January 21st, by the Rev. Mr. HOYT, MR. FRANKLIN G. BOUGHER, to MISS MARY ANN FORD, daughter of MR. DANIEL FORD - all of this city.  Accompanying the above notice, the printers received a wedding loaf, of dimension and quality, just suited to the occassion.  Printers are judges of such matters.
       
Also--In this city, on Sunday evening, January 24, by the Rev. JOHN H. HALL, ALBA JENNERS to MRS. DRUSILLA SPRING.

DIED
On Saturday the 23d inst., of Scarlet Fever, ROBERT STOCKWELL, aged 2 years, 1 month and 15 days, only son of WILLIAM F. and ELIZABETH REYNOLDS.

Notice is hereby given, that letters of Administration have been taken out by the undersigned on the estate of ELIZABETH JONES, late of Tippecanoe County, dec'd.  All persons having claims against said estate are hereby notified to present them, duly authenticated, for settlement; and all persons indebted to said estate are required to make immediate payment.  The estate is supposed to be solvent.

The undersigned, Executor of the estate of HIRAM JENNINGS, late of Tippecanoe County, dec'd, would hereby notify the public that letters testamentary have been granted him by the Probate Court of said county.  All persons knowing themselves indebted to said estate, are hereby notified to make immediate payment; and all persons having claims against said estate are notified to present them within one year from the date hereof, legally proven, for settlement.  The estate is solvent.
