INTRODUCTION

You may have ancestors who may have reason to believe were born, married, raised a family, or spent some time here on their journey to their destination. What you may have a problem with is which county, or counties, they settled in.

Here are three ways for you to find where they might be.

Census records are the first way. If there were here between census years, then you can do any of the following.

Marriage records. If one of the children, or the parents, were married in Indiana, then this is a good source.

Land records. Most people who settled in Indiana long enough, bought property.

There are links for each of the above on the main page.

Another option is to join the mailing list for discussing genealogy in the State of Indiana. To subscribe send "subscribe" to Indiana-L (mail mode) or Indiana-D (digest mode).
