52, Route 3, Rosedale, who died Thursday night at St. Anthony Medical Clinic, Crown Point,
Ind., are scheduled for 3 p.m. Monday in Thomas Funeral Home, Pastor Albert GERST
officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park with American Legion military
graveside rites.
He was owner of Carlegriffs Kennels at Rosedale, head deacon at Terre Haute Seventh Day
Adventist Church and a member of American Legion Post 346.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth; three daughters, Susan WALKER, Terre Haute, Sheri MORGAN,
West Terre Haute and Jana BAKER, Graysville; three sons, Thomas, Tucson Arizona, Tony,
Bridgeton, and Dean, at home; his foster mother, Corda JUDKINS, Florida; four brothers,
Joe and Jerry, both of Columbis, Ohio; James, Indianapolis; and Maurice, Madison; three
sisters, Margy BORSCHELT and Leora FIERS, both of Indianapolis, and Carol NEIMAN,
Indianapolis; and 12 grandchildren.
Visitation will be 4 to 9 p.m. in Cottrell Funeral Home, Rosedale, and 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday
in Thomas Funeral Home.

CASHMORE,
SAMUEL , for many years a resident of Terre Haute, died Friday at Muncie, Ind.,
where he lived for the past ten years. He was 72 years old. Death followed a brief illness
with pneumonia. Mr. Cashmore, while a resident of Terre Haute was employed as an iron
worker and was active in labor circles. He was formerly vice president of the Amalgamated
Association of Iron workers, in the Fifth district. The burial will be made at Muncie.

CIVIL WAR VETERAN DIED THURSDAY NIGHT
J.J. Chapman Was One of the Best Known G.A.R Veterans in the City. J.J. Chapman,
aged 66 years, died at his home, 127 North Third Street, Thursday night of lagrippe of the
bowels. He was born at Philadelphia in 1833, and served three years in the Civil war. He
was in the Twenty-second Kansas Cavalry, under McCloude. Mr. Chapman leaves a wife and two
children, Mrs. Ida Waltman of Evansville and Miss May Bird Chapman of Terre Haute. He also
leaves a brother, Charles Chapman of Mount Carmel, Ill. Mr. Chapman was one of the best
known GAR veterans in the city, and during the last campaign was in charge of the
Republican headquarters on south Fifth street.

CONDRON, PATRICK, 69 years old, died at the
residence, 1641 Second avenue Tuesday morning, following an illness of three weeks. He was
born in Ireland and came to this country in 1881. He is survived by the widow, Jane; three
daughters, Mrs. Andrew Kennedy, Mrs. George Potts, and Mrs. Elmer Lawson; two sons, Johnn
and James Condron; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Thomas Watkins, eight grandchildren, and one great
grandchild. The funeral will be held from the residence at 8:30 o'clcok Thursday morning
with continued services at St. Anne's Church at 9 o'clock. Interment will be made in the
Catholic cemetery in Brazil.

CONOVER, MRS. FRANCES DUNNING, 39 years old 1920 north
eighth street died at 4:15 o'clock Thursday afternoon at her home. Surviving are the
husband Howard: three sisters , Mrs.F.E. Hutchens of Temple, Texas , Mrs. Clifford
Anderson of Indianapolis and Mrs. Ray Secrest of Terre Haute and two bothers John and
Bernard Dunning, both of Terre Haute. An employe of the Bledsoe Coal Company for the last
six years, she was a member of the Sacred Heart Church. Services will be at 8:30 o'clock
Monday morning at the Callahan Funeral Homes. Requiem mass will follow at 9 o'clock at the
Sacred Heart Church . Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. Friends may call after 3 o'clock
Saturday afternoon .

Grover C. CREAGER, 76, died at his home in Dugger at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. He is
survived by his wife Ollie; one son Lester W. of Koleen, Ind. one brother Frank, of
Sullivan; one sister Mrs. Kate MCCLELLAN of Sullivan and two grandchildren. The body was
taken to the Newkirk Funeral Home in Dugger where arrangements are pending.
