KELLY, JOHN F.
Services for John F. Kelly, 86, who died at 11:45 p.m. Friday at Parkview Memorial
Hospital, Plymouth, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Callahan Funeral Home Central Chapel.
He was a resident of 2160 East Shore Drive, Culver, and had been a resident of Terre Haute
for several years. A veteran of World War I, Kelly founded his own construction company in
1919 which developed into the present Wabash Valley Asphalt Co., of which he served as
chairman of the board of trustees. Kelly also was founder of the Bituminous Materials
Company, and co-founder of the Terre Haute Concrete Supply Co. He is a charter
member of the Indiana Constructors Association, and for the past 25 years has been active
in church-related philanthropic activities. In addition, he has published litanies and
prayers which are distributed worldwide. He and his wife, Catharine (sic-should be
Katharine) Walsh Kelly, have established a foundation for gifts to charities. His
memberships include St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the Elks Lodge,
all of Terre Haute. Survivors in addition to his wife include five sons, Richard, William,
Thomas, and James, all of Terre Haute, and Joseph of Saginaw, Mich.; 30 grandchildren and
33 great grandchildren. Following services Tuesday, the Mass of the Resurrection will be
said at St. Joseph's Church Church, Rev. Dismas J. Veeneman officiating. Burial will be at
Calvary Cemetery. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Monday. Visiting hours will
be after 3 p.m. Monday.

KELLY, JOHN FRANCIS JR.,
2-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. John F. KELLY, Sr., 2006 South Center street, died
at 3 o'clock Wednesday morning at the residence following a week's illness of pneumonia.
Besides the parents he is survived by one brother,Richard; the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
John L. WALSH and Michael J. KELLY. The funeral will be held from the home at 8:30 o'clock
Friday morning and from St. Margaret Mary's Church at 9 o'clock. Interment in Calvary
Cemetery.
The microfilm on which the obituary was located
at the Vigo County Public Library was a bad film. Although a copy could not be taken of

KELLY, RICHARD WALSH,
71, of Terre Haute died at 3:57 a.m. Monday, September 13, 1993 in St. Vincent's
Hospital at Indianapolis. He was Vice President of Wabash Valley Asphalt Company, Inc. He
was born March 22, 1922, in Terre Haute to John F. KELLY and Katharine WALSH KELLY.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Jane RASSELL KELLY, one son, Michael of Danville; five
daughters, Molly ELLINGSWORTH of West Terre Haute, Jane FULLER of Freeport, Maine, Susan
GERRITY of Grand Rapids, Mich., Betsey HOEY of Marchfield, Mass., and Mary REPIC of Flint,
Mich.; four brothers, James M. and Thomas L. of Terre Haute, Joseph P. of Saginaw, Mich.,
and William R. of Southern Pines, N.C.; 18 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and
several nieces and nephews. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, St. Patrick
Church Holy Name Society, was a 1939 graduate of Wiley High School, a 1943 graduate of
University of Notre Dame, was a technical sergeant in the Army Engineers during World War
II, former president of Bituminous Materials, Corp.,former president of Indiana
Constructors Inc., member and past president of the Country Club of Terre Haute, served on
the board of directors of Terre Haute First National Bank and Union Hospital, member of
the Knights of Columbus,Terre Haute Elks Lodge 86 and Fort Harrison Ameican Legion Post
40. Services are 10:15 a.m. Wednesday in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, followed by
Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick Church at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Larry Moran
officiating. Burial is in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today with Rosary at
7:30 p.m. Pallbearers are John KELLY, Peter ELLINGSWORTH, David GERRITY, Brian GERRITY,
Andrew HOEY, and Timothy HOEY. The family of Richard Walsh KELLY suggests that in lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Gibault School for Boys, 5901 Dixie Bee
Road, Terre Haute, IN 47802 or to the Sisters of Providence, St. Mary of-the-Woods, IN
47876, or to the Union Hospital Foundation, 1606 N. Seventh St., Terre Haute, 47807 or to
the charity of their choice.

KELLY, WILLIAM
"SEAN", 33, of Indianapolis and formerly of Terre Haute died Thursday,
January 7, 1993, in his residence. He was owner of Sean Kelly Interiors at Indianapolis
and worked for Congressman Adam Benjamin. Survivors include his parents,William R. and
Helen Jane Johnson Kelly of Culver, two brothers, Kevin John of South Bend and Timothy
Peter of Carmel;and one sister, Laura Lynn Kelly of Indianapolis.He had worked for
Congressman Adam Benjamin until his death. He also worked asa lobbyist for the American
Cancer Society. He was a graduate of Culver Military Academyand Regis College.Services are
4:30 p.m. in St.Luke Catholic Church at Indianapolis.Leppert & Hurt Mortuary assisted
with arrangements.

KIDDER, WILLARD
Aged Resident Is Called By Death
Willard KIDDER, for Many Years Prominent In Citys Business Circles, Dies
Willard Kidder, one of the oldest residents of the city and for many years active in local
business circles, died Tuesday afternoon at the residence, 456 North Center Street. Mr.
Kidder had been ill for several weeks and his death at this time was not unexpected by the
family and friends. He was 93 years old and had lived in Terre Haute for more than fifty
years.
Mr. Kidder was one of the pioneers in the milling industry here and was the founder of the
large flour mill at the east end of the Wabash river bridge, now operated by the Sparks
Milling company. He was at one time president of the Terre Haute Street Railway company
and was at the head of the company when its lines were changed from horse drawn to
electric service. At the time of his death he was president of the Kester Electric company
and had been associated in many other enterprises with prominent men of the city. He was a
member of the First Congregational church. The decedent was a native of Vermont and came
west with his family when about 21 years of age. The family first located in Illinois and
after several years residence there removed to Terre Haute. In 1869 he was married
to Louise Kendall of Jamaica, Vt. Mrs. Kidder died in 1922. Surviving him of his immediate
family are one sister, Mrs. L.P. Alden; two daughters, Mrs. Cora K. Wood and Miss Idelle
Kidder, all of Terre Haute; three sons, Ned S. of Minneapolis, Arthur D. of Washington,
D.C., and Sidney J. Kidder of Mogollon, N.M.; 11 grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren. One son, Marcus W. Kidder, died in 1908, and another, Clinton B.,
died in 1920. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 oclock Friday morning at the
residence. Interment will be private.

KING, JEFFERSON "Jack",
Services for Jefferson "Jack" KING, 71, 120 Margaret Ave., who died Friday
afternoon in Terre Haute Regional Hospital, are pending at Bedino Chapel of the Valley.
Surviving are on son, Donnie, Terre Haute; one daughter, Jacquelin KING, Terre Haute; one
brother, Dexter, Terre Haute; and one sister, Martha CARDIN, Florida.
