In a letter dated June 1979, I also have the following information:

Dear Classmates of the Pimento Class of 1939

This has been a most enjoyable experience for me in getting in touch with as many of you as I was able to.

Eight of the original twenty-three of our graduating class were in attendance at the alumni banquet.

Those attending were: Marjorie McCoskey Miller & her husband; Martha Beck Eliis; Margaret Hunt Presser and husband; Regenia Runkle Zirkle; Floyd M. Lee and wife; Frank Walton; Marvin Taylor and wife; and Arthur Brown.

We had a most enjoyable time at the banqet. Afterwards we toured the Pimento School buildings, probably for the last time. The present principal stated that the old grade school was slted to be torn down and the future of the old high school building was uncertain. It would make a nice community building if that were possible.

It seemed, after all these years, that to each of us when we saw each other, the years just rolled away and not any time had passed at all.

On Sunday morning we met at the Holiday Inn for brunch and each vowed that we would make it back again in five years which would be the 45th anniversary. That would be in 1984. So each of you that were unable to attend, please plan on making this on the weekend of Mother's Day in 1984.

I had a real nice letter from Hosea Russell who was our principal. He had just had surgery recently and could not attend but he thanked us for asking him and said to tell everyone 'hello'.

I also had real nice letters from Walter Boyll and Charles Failing. Walter had to work so could not attend but said to tell everyone 'hello'. I did not get hold of Charles until the last minute and it was too late for him to arrange to come. Doris Taylor Smith was on vacation. Anna Smith was ill and was unable to come. Paul Meisner's daughter was graduating from IU that weekend and he was unable to come also.

Sincerely,

Regenia (Runkle) Zirkle"
