CRAIG Wabash, May 23 – Samuel R. Craig, 79, a resident of Wabash for the past 40 years, died at his home at 7 o’clock this morning after an illness of three years. A native of West Lafayette, O., he came to Wabash from Columbus in 1900. For many years he was a representative of the J. I. Case Company. Mr. Craig was active in Masonic circles here for many years, having served as Worshipful Master of Hanna Lodge, Commander of the Wabash Commandery, and Recorder of the Commandery for 22 years. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Surviving are the widow; two daughters, Miss Lucile Craig of New York City and Mrs. Wallace R. Smith of Chattanooga, Tenn.; one granddaughter and a brother, Will Craig of West Lafayette, O. Funeral arrangements have not been completed. Journal-Gazette, Fort Wayne, IN May 24, 1940.
