RICHARD EVANS DIES AT WABASH Heart Attack Fatal to Head of Factory Wabash, August 25 – Richard J. Evans, prominent Wabash and Huntington manufacturer, died suddenly of a heart attack last night at his home here. He had been in impaired health for several years. Mr. Evans, who was head of the Asbestos Manufacturing Company, came to this city shortly before the World War and had been active in civic affairs for two decades. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. LaMotte Dewey and one brother, Charles Evans, both of this city. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 pm at the residence with Rev. Charles E. Lamale of Clark, Pa., former pastor off the First Presbyterian Church here, officiating. Burial will be at Erie, Pa. Journal-Gazette, Fort Wayne, IN, August 26, 1940.
