Not indexed, but in addition to information about Frances Slocum, her descendants, and Indian history throughout the county (including various villages and cemeteries), it contains historical information about all of Wabash County, with a special section on Somerset and Vernon, and also on 1936 Manchester College, including a list of graduates for that year.

Each generation seems to rediscover Frances Slocum and her romantic tale of kidnap and survival. The latest is "LITTLE BEAR WOMAN-THE STORY OF FRANCES SLOCUM AS TOLD BY HER 5th GREAT GRANDSON", 2008 by Micheal L. Thompson. His latest endeavor is chock full of information from many different sources on her life. He has an excellent bibliography on source materials used and that are available. New to this volume is a family tree showing the descendants of Frances. The softbound book can be obtained from Reading Room Books, 264 S. Wabash St. Wabash, IN 46992, at 260 563-6421.
