Thomas W. SLEETH was born in Greene County, Ohio, and is the son. of Alvin and Eliza (Forker) Sleeth, who came to White County in 1841. Here the father died in 1846 ; the mother still survives him. T. W. Sleeth was but one year of age when brought to this county, and here he has lived ever since on Section 29. The homestead comprises 200 acres, belonging to Mr. Sleeth, his mother and brother, but outside of his inheritance he owns forty acres; he deals in cattle and hogs, and is engaged in general farming. In 1874, he married Miss Susanna, J. Barr, daughter of Cyrus and Margaret Barr, natives of Ohio, who came here in 1830. In June, 1876, Mrs. Sleeth died, and Mr. S. remains a widower. Mr. Sleeth answered to his country's call during the late war, and for three years served in Company A, Forty sixth Indiana Volunteer Infantry.
