GEORGE W. WOLVERTON was born in this township August 22, 1849, and is the elder of the two sons born to Philip and Margaret Wolverton. He received an ordinary common school education in youth, having always lived on the home farm. Of this he owns now a moiety, to which he has added until his farm now comprises 720 acres. It is well improved, and his residence and other buildings are among, the best in the county. He is probably one of the most extensive stock-breeders in the county, rearing on an average 100 head of cattle and sixty of hogs per annum. He was married. December 22, 1874, to Nancy J. Reynolds, a native of this county, and daughter of Benjamin Reynolds, one of the county's pioneers. To this marriage 'have been born three children, of whom two are living- Ella and Guy. Mrs. Wolverton is a member of the Presbyterian Church. Mr. Wolverton belongs to no church, neither does he belong to any secret organization. He is a Democrat in politics, and a leading farmer of this township, as well as county.
