Moses W. Ross               
Wabash County, Indiana Moses W. Ross, born in Decatur County, Indiana, in 1823, 
and came to Wabash County in 1838.  In June, 1846, he enlisted in Captain Lewis' 
Company [F, 1st Regiment], and afterward, when the company was organized, he 
was elected Corporal.  His enlistment was for one year, and at the end of his term 
of service he returned and was an honored citizen of Wabash County, Indiana.

Neely Benge
Wabash County, Indiana.  Mustered in 23 Jun 1846, at New Albany, Indiana, 
by Colonel Samuel Churchill, mustered out 16 Jun 1847 at New Orleans, 
Louisiana, by Colonel Samuel Churchill.  Neely Benge was the son of Thomas 
Benge, who was in the same company and regiment.  Neely enlisted as a 
private in Company F, but being in poor health started home on sick leave and 
died near the mouth of the Ohio River.

Thomas Benge
Wabash County, Indiana.  Thomas Benge was a member of Company F, and 
enlisted in this county for one year.  With the company he went to the seat of 
war.  His health soon failed, after reaching the Rio Grande, and he was honorably 
discharged on the 5 Sep 1846, on disability.  He returned home and died at 
North Manchester, Indiana. Mustered in 23 Jun 1846, at New Albany, Indiana, 
by Colonel Samuel Churchill, discharged 25 Aug 1846, on Surgeons Certificate.

Dennis Keyton                 
Allen County.  Mustered in 23 Jun 1846, at New Albany, Indiana, by Colonel Samuel 
Churchill, died 6 Jul 1846, on the Mississippi.  On the night of the 7th Dennis Keyton 
of the Wayne Guards died after a very short illness.  He was a native of Scotland, 
but had adopted America for his home.  He was a warm-hearted associate, a true 
patriot and a brave soldier.  On the 8th we stopped at Memphis to bury our fellow 
soldier, and I am informed he was refused a burial place in the graveyard.  After 
the sun had set and it began to grow dark we stopped five miles above Helena and 
buried him.  He deserved a better interment, but it was not in our power to do better.

Levi Ross
Wabash County, Indiana.  Levi Ross, a younger brother of Moses W. Ross, was born 
in Hancock County, Indiana in 1829, and moved to Wabash County with his father in 
1838.  In June, 1846, he volunteered in the same company with his brother, as a 
private, followed the fortunes of his company through the campaign, and after the 
expiration of his term of service, he re-enlisted for three years or during the war, as a 
regular.  Upon the restoration of peace, he returned home and resided in Wabash 
County until the inauguration of the rebellion.  In August 1861, he assisted in recruiting 
Company F for the Second Cavalry, of which company he was elected First Lieutenant.  
After the battle of Pittsburg Landing, for meritorious service he was promoted to Captain 
of his company.  While at Louisville, Kentucky, on official business, he died, 7 Mar 
1863, and his remains were sent home for interment, and he was buried with the honors 
of war in the new Cemetery. Mustered in 23 Jun 1846, at New Albany, Indiana, by Colonel
