Ora May Myers Chestnut

19 Aug 1900 - 12 Feb 1986

Mrs. Ora May Chestnut, 85, 1500 Hwy 57 S, died at 11:15PM Wednesday at the Daviess County Hospital. The funeral will be at 1:30PM Saturday at Christ United Methodist Church with the Revs. William Patterson and Loran Campbell officiating. Interment will be in Raglesville Cemetery. Friends may call after 4:00PM Friday at the Gill Funeral Home. The casket will be taken to the church at noon Saturday. She was born Aug. 19, 1900 in Daviess County to Charles A. and Lola (Humerickhouse) Myers. She married Jesse Chestnut May 9, 1920 and he died Oct. 15, 1969. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Priscilla Circle, and Quilting Group of the church. She was a Sunday school teacher over 20 years. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Fred (Violet) Hill and Mrs. Kenneth (Vonda) Mauck, both of Anderson, Mrs. Vera Ward, city, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren, one sister and two brothers, Mrs. Marjorie Truelove, Odon, and Shirley Myers, Martinsville, and Charles D. Myers, Poland, Ind. One son, one sister and two brothers have died.
