Kathryn Clauss

Mrs. Kathryn( Katy) L. Clauss, 63, Rt # 1 Maxwell Ave., died at the Daviess Co. Hospital at 4 p.m. Sunday ( March 24, 1985)following an illness of nine years. She was seriously ill one week. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Church with interment in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ed Lee Mortuary after 2 p.m. Tuesday & members of St. Mary's & friends will pray a rosary at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. She was born Dec.10, 1921 at Washington to the late Frank & Mae Doades Way. She married Robert L. Clauss June 17, 1942 & he survives. She was a former employee of the Washington Herald newspaper & was employed with her husband in the Clauss Shoe Repair Shop. She was a 1940 graduates of Washington High School & was a member of St. Mary's Church. Surviving besides her husband are one daughter & four sons, Mrs. Frank( Mary Lynn) Tester, Jasper, Gregory L. Clauss, Denver Colorado & Patrick, James & Joseph L. Clauss all of this city, six grandchildren & one brother & one sister, Shirley Way, Huntsville, Texas, & Mrs. Margie Lents, city. Five sisters & three brothers have died. A mass was celebrated at St. Mary's Church for Mrs. Clauss, where the Revs. Philip Kreilein & Joseph Clauss were con-celebrants. Bearers were Richard Walford, Robert Lynch Jr., Fred Clark, William Clark, Robert Purdue & Leroy Brothers.
