Mary Josephine Clauss

Mary Josephine Clauss Mrs. Mary Josephine Clauss 70, 1300 Maxwell Ave., city passed away at 12:05 a.m. today at her home, after being seriously ill for three months. She had been in failing health for a year. Mrs. Clauss was born July 22, 1887, in Barr township, the daughter of James & Julia( Mattingly) Norris. Her to Nicholas S Clauss proceeded her in death on May 7, 1947. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Auxiliary to the Knights of St. John & St. Mary's Alter Society. The deceased was educated in the Barr township schools. Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Lloyd(Dorothy) over Walford, John R Clauss, Harold J Clauss, & Robert L Clauss, all of this city; Mrs. Woodrow(Margie) Gootee of North Vernon, & Mrs. Archie ( Loretta) Rego of Bicknell. One son proceeded her in death. There are 17 grandchildren. Also surviving are for sisters, Margaret north, Delphia Norris & Mrs. Bernard(Corrine) Grannan, all of this city, & Mrs. Ray(Florence) Miles, of Evansville. Two brothers proceeded her and death. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Church, with burial in St. John's cemetery. Friends may call at the Lee & York Funeral Home. Auxiliary of the Knights of St. John will pray the rosary at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Chapel.
