Frederick (Fred) Colbert

Frederick ( Fred) Colbert, 72, 204 South Meridian St., city, passed away at 4:30 p.m. Monday at his home after being seriously ill for a month. He had been in failing health for several years. Mr. Colbert was born September 22, 1885, in Washington the son of Ephriam & Josephine(Osha) Colbert. He married Lidie Williams, is Bloomfield, on October 22, 1906 & she survives. The deceased was a member of the Central Christian Church & the Eagles Lodge. He had worked at the McCord Corp. & prior to that had worked in various coal mines for 37 year. Mr. Colbert was educated in the local schools. Surviving besides his wife are four sons & to daughters. They are: Delus Colbert, Middletown, Ohio; Mrs. Harry( Marie) Small, Anderson; William Burreil Colbert, Linton; Mrs. Bernard( Rosa) Cosgrove, Grandville Colbert & Dola(Dusty) Colbert, all of this city. A daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Small proceeded him in death. There are 21 grandchildren & 6 great-grandchildren. Also surviving tar 3 sisters & three brothers. They are: Mrs. Charles( Rosa) Campbell & Mrs. Lillie Miller, of this city; Mrs. Eli (Tilllie) Tincher , Bicknell, David Colbert & Ephriam Colbert of Los Angeles California. Three brothers proceeded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Gill Chapel with Rev. Stanley Kain officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery. Friends may call at Gill's after 7 p.m. today.
