MARY B. COSBY TAKEN BY DEATH
WIDOW OF THE LATE GRANDISON T. COSBY DIED IN DAVIESS CO. HOSPITAL. Mrs. Mary B. Cosby, 74, widow of the late Grandison T. Cosby, native of Daviess County, who resided on the Portersville road, died at 6 o'clock this morning after a six week's illness in the Daviess county hospital. She had been in the hospital for the past week. Deceased was preceded in death by her husband on Nov 27, 1936. She was the daughter of Morgan and Mary (Cole) Potts, both natives of Indiana, and was born on July 5, 1866. Mrs. Cosby was a member of the Veale Creek Baptist church where funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:30 with Rev. Burl Eads in charge. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Friends may call at the Gill Mortuary to pay respects until the hour of the funeral. Surviving children are Mrs. Flora M. Day, of Kokomo, Mrs. Hallie Hopkins, Washington township, Lew M. Cosby, Blackville, OK, and grand children, Bob and Beverly Jean Hopkins. One son, Charles G. Cosby, died four years ago. Brothers and sisters surviving are Mrs. Emma Hamersly, Bowling Green, IN, Mrs. Effie Brown, city, Cressy Potts, Hutchinson, KA, and a half-sister, Mrs. Alice Jones of Barr township.
