Mrs. Mary Cullivan

Mrs. Mary Cullivan, 91, to be buried Monday. Mrs. Mary Jane Cullivan, 91, one of Daviess county's oldest citizens and widely known in the Corning community south of Montgomery, died Friday night at 11 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Leo Colvin, on Montgomery RFD 2 in Reeve township. Death of the aged woman was attributed to a complication of ailments incident to old age, and came after an illness extending from 1938. She had been in a serious condition for the past six months. Born in Daviess county on June 4, 1852, she was a daughter of Matthew (sic) and Sarah (Schales) (sic) Hedrick and spent her entire life in Daviess county. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church at Corning. She married Michael Cullivan on May 27, 1879, and he preceded her in death. The surviving children are Mrs. Leo Colvin and Mrs. Thomas Colvin of Montgomery RFD 2, Mrs. Lawrence Gillick and Matthew Cullivan of Washington RFD, Edward Cullivan of Evansville , and Walter Cullivan of Washington. Another daughter died at the age of 15 years. For the past 19 years Mrs. Cullivan had lived at the Colvin home near Corning. There are 24 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 9 o'clock Monday morning at St. Patrick's Catholic church with interment in the nearby parish cemetery. The Keller Mortuary will have charge of the funeral.
