CLAUDE GAMMON
Claude Gammon, 85 700 E. Van Trees st., died at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the ECU unit of the Daviess County Hospital. He had been ill for three years and seriously ill for one year.
Funeral services are pending at the Poindexter Washington chapel.
He was born in Daviess County on March 14, 1912, the son of Hile and Rachel Elizabeth (Abel) Gammon. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Washington, the FOE 414 of Washington, and Birchwood Post 121 American Legion of Washington. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II.
Surviving are one son, Steven Dale Gammon, New York City; and four sisters, Mrs. Mabel Scott, Mrs. Hallie Boger, Mrs. Alta Stevens and Mrs. Lillie Burrous, all of Washington. Three sisters and one brother preceded him in death.
