Pearl Huls Hedrick

Mrs. Pearl Hedrick, 83, Loogootee, Rt. 1, died at the Daviess County Hospital at 12:30 a.m. today after a two week illness. She had been in failing health for four years. She was born November 25, 1893 in Daviess County, daughter of Turner and Millie (Hedrick) Huls. On June 21, 1916 she married Robert Plato Hedrick who died in 1964. Mrs. Hedrick was a member of the Alfordsville Christian Church. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Stuart (Mary Margaret) Preston, Loogootee; four sons, Robert and Plato Hedrick Jr., both of Loogootee, Cecil Hedrick, Spokane, Washington and Neil Hedrick, Millageville, Georgia; 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister and two brothers, Mrs. Leona Arvin and Lester Huls, both of Alfordsville and Norman Huls, Evansville. One son, Jesse, one sister and six brothers preceded her in death. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Alfordsville Christian Church with burial in Old Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gill Funeral Home after 4 p.m. today. The casket will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Sunday.
