Millie G. Holsapple, 80, of Washington, died at 3:32 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Hospital in Jasper. Born Jan. 6, 1929, in Elnora, she was the daughter of William and Cladia (Gibson) Quakenbush. She attended Washington High School and had worked at Daviess County Hospital and Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane, retiring in 1973. She was a member of Bethany Christian Church. She was an excellent seamstress and could do anything she wished to accomplish. She loved people and loved doing for others. God has been her strength through life. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Cladia and Carl Brown of Washington; a son, Kelby Charles Holsapple; a grandson and his wife, Jason Carl and Tammy Sue Brown of Washington; great-granddaughter, Abigail E. Brown of Washington; brother and sister-in-law, Elmer and Laveda Cox of Washington; one aunt, cousins, nieces and nephews. Her husband, Charles “Chuck” William Holsapple, whom she married Oct. 5, 1946, died Oct. 24, 2008. Two brothers, Junior and Martin Quakenbush, and one sister, Vernal Evans, are also deceased. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Gill Chapel, with Bro. Don Smoot officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
