Sue Acton Myers

Sue Ann Myers, 70, 2612 E CR 200S, died at 10:10 p.m. Monday at the home of her daughter, Kimberlee Fowler. Born March 16, 1936, in Daviess County, she was the daughter of Charles and Fern (Graber) Acton.
A 1954 graduate of Washington High School, she attended Vincennes University and Indiana State at Terre Haute.
She had been the athletic secretary at Washington High School for many years. She and her husband moved to Jacksonville, Fla., 18 years ago and just recently moved back to Washington. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Washington and was choir director and organist for many years. After moving to Jacksonville, she was a member of the Baptist Church and was very active in Sunday School through outreach and the visitation ministry. She was also a member of Psi Iota Psi Sorority for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Samuel Myers, whom she married on Sept. 11, 1955; her mother, Fern Acton of Washington; daughters and sons-in-law, Karmen and Mark Sharpe of Knoxville, Tenn., and Kimberlee and Steve Fowler of Washington; grandchildren, Erica Fowler, Tanner Fowler and Tyler Sharpe; and one brother, Wayne Acton of Washington.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Gill Chapel, with Bro. Matt Merold officiating. Burial will be in Sugarland Memory Gardens. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and after 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to the American Cancer Society.
