Miss Bernadine C. 78, of Loogootee, died at the Daviess County Hospital
at 2:00 a.m. Friday, March 21 following an illness of one week.
The funeral was held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 24 at St. John's Catholic
church, Loogootee, with interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Barr Township.
D of I services followed a parish rosary on Sunday, March 23.
She was born April 9, 1907 in Dubois County to Joseph and Mary Friedman
Nonte. She was a retired school teacher having taught in Daviess County.
She was district supervisor at the Burlington School District, Burlington,
Wis. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Loogootee, Daughters
of Isabella, Legion of Mary and the Martin County Right to Life.
Surviving are three brothers and two sisters, Ned Nonte, Detroit, Michigan,
Dr. Leo Nonte, Evansville, Ernest Nonte, Loogootee, Sister Virginia Clara
Nonte, St. Mary of the Woods, and Mrs. Mary Louise Lorentz, Indianapolis.
Two sisters and one brother have died.
