From "History & Genealogy of the Harlan
Family," by Alpheus H. Harlan
The following information was taken from this book
because it has referance to the Harlan families who settled in Jennings County,
Indiana. I have taken pictures of their tombstones and they were neighbors of
many of my ancestors so I did a little research on the family. This first part
is exactly as it was in the book. I am thinking we may be able to add to this
information as it states no further record on some of these people, but then it
does go on to add more. I will add what I have found after the information from
the book. If anyone would like lookups in this book I would be happy to do them,
if you have access to Ancestry.com, for their books you can see the complete
book there. Sheila

I did not know there was a connection
between the Harlan family and the Pell & Griffin children buried in the
Gaddy/Wycoff Cemetery in "Old" Paris, also known as the Paris Burying Ground. By
reading the above it shows that George Wood Harlan and his wife Mary (Denslow)
Harlan were their grandparents. You can see pictures of their headstones on this
site. Also the cemetery at Graham, Jennings Co. Ind. mentioned above is the
Cemetery at the Graham Presbyterian Church, there are pictures of Ephraim and
Zerelda Harlan's stone, Ephraim is listed only as E. Harlan. see the
listing for that cemetery on this site also. This document shows that Ephraim
& George Wood were brothers both sons of James & Mary (Wood) Harlan who
died in Scott County. Hopefully more information about these families is out
there. Sheila
