FERGUSON, SHANKS
I am researching information on a FERGUSON family who lived in
Montgomery
County. Joseph P. FEGUSON was born around July 26, 1829 in Montgomery
County
to Price FERGUSON (b. 1802) and Mary Shanks FERGUSON. Price was a
farmer
in the county, and the family likely had another daughter named
Elizabeth,
born around 1828. According to my information, both Price and Mary died
on the same day, 3 weeks after the birth of their son, Joseph, around
August
of 1829. One source said Price and Mary died in an accident in
Tippacanoe.
Joseph was raised by his grandfather, Aaron FERGUSON (1778-1847) in
Montgomery
County and then later lived with various uncles and moved to Iowa. Does
anyone have any knowledge of this family? I do have the names of Aaron
FERGUSON's other sons and daughters. Any information would be helpful.
