Cambridge City Tribune, Thursday 19 June 1930 Mrs. Minnie Scott Obituary
Cambridge City Tribune, Thursday, June 19, 1930

Minnie, daughter of Andrew Van Ausdall, was born 9 June 1866 at Butler Co, Ohio, in which her childhood was spent, and being the oldest child of a large family, five sisters and one brother, she thus very early in life developed the admirable motherly trait of ministering to the needs of the younger children. This disposition, she retained and cultivated during her entire life.

At the age of 17 she was united in marriage to Charles Scott (error- Peter Scott). To this union was born seven children, one daughter Pearl, who died at the tender age of 11 (months), the others having grown to woman and manhood.

On August 24, 1930, she was stricken with apoplexy, but rallied from the first attack only to succumb to the second, which occurred on Sunday morning June 8th, and from which she never recovered, but steadily grew weaker, until 9:30 o’clock Friday morning June 13, her spirit took its flight, leaving the “outgrown shell by life’s unresting sea”.

She leaves to mourn her loss five daughters and one son; Mrs. Frank Allison, Mrs. Maude Hartman; Mrs. Ruth Chiarenza; Mrs. Mabel Martin of Chicago; Mrs. Hazel Morrow of Canada, and Olin Scott of Richmond and five grandchildren.
